Fishing Tournament Winners Announced
SEA ISLE CITY - Winners have been an nounced in the annual Greater Sea Isle City Fishing Tournament for 1979. Pcc Wee Basketball Model Cleaners has climaxed a fine season by pruning Hillhouse Greenery and Florist 33-30. Jody Webb assaulted the backboards for 23 points and Kendall Davis chipped in six points to power the ’Cleaners’ to first place finish with 8-2 record. David Matthews laid in 12 points and Wayne Walker. Alex Jones and John DeGraw each scored four points to pilot Hillhouse Greenery. Casales relied on agile Mark Shiffbauer’s 22 points and Mike Strawley's 5 points to sink the Atlas Motor Inn 33-8. Steve Johnson and Barry Wise combined for the Atlas’ eight points. Streaking Barry Clothes poured it on in the second overtime to clip Douglas Market in a race-horse style contest 30-27. Richard paced Barry's with 12 points and Joe Lucas countered for Douglas Market by leading all scorers with 16 points. Brian Giancola contributed six markers for Douglas. Street Hockey Axelsson and Johnson survived a close cat! by defeating a fearless Cape May Lumber team 1-0 on a first period goal by William Mendo. John Pirnik played a magnificent game in goal for Cape May Lumber The bruising Dellas Flames, gaining confidence with every game, pummeled the C-View Inn 6-2 Lee Anderson slapped in three goals. Jim MacBride popped in two and Rill ’Stahl garnered one goal for Dellas. After a shakey first period, the CView settled down to play good overall hockey Charlie Hickman scored in the second stanza and Mark Liston ripped one in during the third period.
