On Dean’s List At Monmouth W LONG BRANCH - Seven Jersey Cape residents were among IW students named to the Dean's List at Monmouth College for high academic achievement during the fall semester Students with at least a 3.5 average for 14 or more credit hours included: Seniors Mary Mouhon, an elementary education major from Beechwood ltd , Villas, and business administration major William Hoffman of Fourth Ave, Rio Grande, and Kenneth Burke of Walnut ltd . and Allen Vernon of Asbury Ave . Worthiness /Iward Goes To Amundsen COURT HOUSE - Phil Amundsen, an eighth grade student at the Middle Township Middle School, was the recipient of the Cape May Court House Kiwanis Club's Student Worthiness Award for February. Phill was selected on the basis of his school and community involement and his commitment to citizenship, scholarship, and leadership His involvement usually keeps him after school five days a week and frequently on weekends He serves as the vice president of the student council and is chairman of the council’s Pancake Dinner Theater fundraising project for the American Cancer Society. Phill ia the son of Mr. and Mrs Phillip Amundsen of this community They were all on hand for the award presentation at a recent Kiwanis Club dinner meeting.
Instructs Instructors In Dancing LANCASTER, PA - Joanne Reagan of Cold Springs was among some 100 preaenter-teachers at the 57th Annual Convention of the Eastern District Association of the American Alliance of Health. Physical Education, Recreation and Dance meeting at Host Farms here The four-day convention, whose theme was "Beyond Ourselves - the Joy of Effort," was attended by high school and college level instructor^ belonging to the association from 12 Northeastern states Over 150 sessions dealing with various areas were offered during the recent gathering. Ms Reagan who presented tap dance sessions in the beginner and intermediate levels, has taught various other workshops in Jersey Cape elementary and secondary schools She is owner and director of Joanne Reagan Dance Studios, of Cold Springs. Sewing Social To Aid Patients CAPE MAY-The Social Service and American Home Departments of the Women's Community Club will meet in the Community Center, 10 am. March 25 to make terry cloth bibs, lap-robes, etc. for the residents of the Crest Haven Nursing Home. Friends are invited to bring sewing needles, thread, scissors, crochet needles, and scrapes of yam, notes Mrs. Fely Poole, Social Services chairlady. Sights V Sounds ERMA — The annual Sights and Sounds Dferby begins with a student talent show in the Teitelman School Cafetonum 7 p.m., March 20 and continues with an exhibit of selected seventh and eighth grade science projects in the media center
