Consumer Alert On Sugar N. WILDWOOD - About two dozen bags of Jack Frost sugar which could possibly contain tiny bits of stainless steel wire were sold from the AAP Supermarket at 26th & Delaware Aves., according to a store spokesman who said yesterday that none had been returned. Initial radio news broadcasts last week reported that the wire bits had found their way into some bags of sugar at the National Sugar Refining Co. of Philadelphia The suspect 5-lb bags included the Jack ,Frost brand, coded 2A26, and Acme's Ideal brand, coded 2A2S through 2A29 The bags would reportedly have been . sold between Feb 26 and March 16, According to follow-up news reports, some 72 bags of the suspect Jack Frost brand were delivered to the A&P in North Wildwood However, the spokesman said yesterday only about 24 bags had been sold before the recall information was received and the bags removed from the shelves Initial indications were that none of the Ideal brand wOs distributed in the Jersey Cape.
