VILLAS — Nowhere in this ditty is mention made of our prowess as fishermen, but I can vouch that "we're the greatest" when it’s time to have fun. This past winter the VFC took possession of Treasure Island, Florida - from Bay Plaza (the Scotty CMays* hangout) to Sea Spire (where Sue and Howard Weir stayed for January) Ann and Walt Lewandowskl, Agnes and Bob Sullivan. Cass and Tom McDade and Peg Fitzmaurice checked in to House by the-Sea on the beautiful Gulf of Mexico, and upheld the VFC reputation of being the greatest by throwing a couple of wingding beach parties Cass and Bill Murphy, registered next door at Molloy's, had members of their clan coming and going — real fun people! Helen and Russ Jones were at Sir Edward James. Mae and Ed Erickson and Ann and Frank Ulrich at Skylark Come February 15. Skylark was bulging, with Be be and Chink Flanigan, Edith and Harry Hel verson, and Dot and Don Griffin checking in. Swelling the ranks arouhd the same time were Fran Sauer. Millie Pettit. Marge and Ray Gaynor, Marie and Rill Daniels, Elsie and Warren Kipp. Florence and Chick Parker. Helen and Bernie Figlewski, and Jean Martin. Our most popular spot on the island was Sir Edward James, where a fantastic organist named Roger Johnson performed nightly. We introduced him to "On The Way To Cape May" and from then on it was Cape May all theway. One night Peg and Bud Mendoza (who were spending a couple of days with the Sullivans) MC'd and had everybody "doing their thing." including a substantial number of those beautiful Canadians. A few evenings we were joined by Ann and Russ WHisett and Gert and John Anglin and Peggy Popolovich. who' came down from targo; and Mae and Art McKee, who traveled over from their winter home in Lakeland At the VFW in Madiera Beach (our Sunday afternoon retreat), we encountered John Waldeck, a former VFC member, and at the next-door Bamboo Beer Garden was Cliff, the banjo player, a dear friend of our late Al Ryan. All the Sun V Fun Lovers are home now - but we hope to do it again next year! —Jeanette O'May Staff Slots For Rehab Unit

COURT HOUSE - Approval of a CETA proposal submitted by the Jersey Cape Diagnostic, Training and Opportunity Center has created three new staff positions at the

Crest Haven facility.

The center offers programs of . vocational development and sheltered employment to the county's handicapped citizens. Pari of the center's program includes a placement service which looks for jobs in the community for han-

dicapped workers.

The new staff members

hired through the CETA grant will fulfill on-site counseling and transportation needs of the center's placements. The additional staff members, which include two supervisors and a driver, will also accommodate the expected growth of the center's placement program, according to George Plewa, executive director of the rehabilitation facility. Mr. Plewa filed the CETA proposal and indicated the new positions should be filled within a

week.
