WILDWOOD CREST - Over 100 people paid *50 per pernor lo attend n cocktail party ii\ hortor of congressional candidate Beech Fgu here recently. A Republican, Mr. Fox is a candidate for Congress for the Second District of FDA Issues Warning On A Diuretic . E. ORANGE - The Food and Drug Administration has warned pharmacists, physicians, and consumers that a prescription diuretic called Triam-Thlaxtde may cause elevated potassium levels — A potentially serious health hazard. Triam-Thiazide is the brand name for a drug being marketed without approval by FDA as a substitute for an approved drug called “Dyazide." Both the approved and unapproved versions of the drug are similar in appearance. Both are maroon and white. The major difference Is that the brand name "Dyazide” and the letters "SKF” appear on the approved drug. Because the unapproved drug may be absorbed more readily by the body, the prescribed dosage might repult in an abnormal elevation of the potassium level in the blood that couk) lead to serious consequences due to heart irregularities. This is expecially true in elderly |.patient8 with impaired r kidney function due to diabetes or high blood
pressure.
