tells thousands of claimants that the extended benefits program has been reacUvated and that, if they are currently unemployed, they might be eligible for the added

benefits

Geared to the rate of insured unemployment for 13-week periods, payments under the extended benefits program came to a halt last October when the rate fell below 5 per cent. The program triggered on again when the rate went above 5 per cent for the 13-week period ending Feb. 23.

EVENING

Labor and Industry Commissioner John J. Horn said the postcard notices were sent to claimant who had an extended benefits claim in active status when the program triggered off last October, and to those who have exhausted their benefit rights under a regular claim since that time. He added, however, that individuals who haven't received a notification and who believe they may be eligible should report to their local offices if they are still unemployed.
