Rio Grande Lions Units Mark Aiiniv. DIAMOND BEACH - Connie Armour was reinstalled as president of the Rio Grande Lioness Club during recent dinner ceremonies at the Holiday Inn here celebrating the 15th anniversary of the Rio Grande Lions Club. Also re-installed by past district Gov. Lewis Shaw were vice president Cathy Morano, secretary Laura Keene, treasurer Pat Baldy. and Lioness tamer and tail twister Jeanette McCarty. THE RIO Grande Lions Auxiliary was organized in 1974 by Ms McCarty; it joined the Lioness Club Dept of Lions International three years
later.
The Lioness Club is currently in the midst of a membership drive. Like the Lions Club, the Lionesses are a service organization whose main fund raising efforts benefit the blind and promote better eye care. LIONESS meetings are 6 p.m. the fourth Wednesday of each month in conjunction with the Lions. The members meet at Keene’s Kitchen in the North Cape May Shopping Center. Both units are currently. preparing for their Health Fair, tentatively scheduled for early
June.
Also on hand for the 15th anniversary celebration March 22 was Rio Grande Lions Club charter president Owen Hand. The Rio Grande Club was organized under the sponsorship of the Greater Wildwood Lions Gub and received its charter March *0.1965. Oyster & Flounder Dinner WILDWOOD CREST - The Cedarettes of Cape May County will hold their annual oyster-flounder dinner, Good Friday, 3 to 7 p.m. at the Masonic Temple, 6300 Atlantic Ave. Call 886-7446 for tickets.
