Mailmen Bring Food Stamps CAPE MAY - As of May 1, the Cape May County Food Stamp Office will begin a pilot program of direct coupon issuance ‘ under which the postal service will deliver food coupons to participating
clients.
The purpose of ff.C.I. is to make the food stamp program more accessible to food stamp clients. According to county food stamp supervisor Leroy' Cardile, "We hope to get greater participation of eligible clients in the program by eliminating the need for clients to go to the bank to receive their food coupons." The cost of mail issuance will probably be about the same as the. current system, according to Mr. Cardile. Banks currently receive a fee for each A.T.P. cashed.
