Middle High Tennis On The Ready
COURT HOUSE - Middle Township Boys Tenhis team is glaring up
. for the spring season.
The Panthers posted a 9-3 record last year, but lost their. top' five players through graduation. Returning to this year’s squad is Lance Harrison, a senior from Burleigh. Lance appears to have become both stronger and more consistent than the previous year and promises to see a lot of
action this season.
FRESHMEN team members Orton Hicks.
Tom Hersch, Nassar Chaudhry and Bernie Blanks all show considerable promise and are expected to contribute heavily to the team's performance. Sophomores Scott Bond. Wayne Rowe and Eric Stone are all competing for the starting positions. . Rounding out thp team are seniors Milton Walker, a hard server, and Tom O'Leary from Stone
Harbor.
THE TEAM has been practicing regularly since the beginning of March.

COURT HOUSE - With the advent of warmer weather, the Middle Township High School baseball team has been working out at Memorial Field, rain permitting. Coach * Chuck Dougherty has a varsity squad of 15 players and the name of their game is versatility Some of the players are playing two or three different positions with Jim Pickering at shortstop, pitcher and catcher, Jimmy Killian, outfield, pitcher and catcher. The team has played one scrimmage, losing to Glassboro 5-1. The battery was Collins, Chase and Cannon pitching and Cannon M. Hand and Pickering catching. The season opener was April 8 at home against Absegami. Next game is April 9 against St. Joseph’s at home. Friday they play at Lower Cape May

Wins ‘Gold’ For Cape Vo-Tech
MEDFORD - Cape May County Vo-Tech postsecondary student Darlene Doganlerl was a gold medal winner during the recent Skill Olympics sponsored at the John Ossi Vocational Center here by the N.J. Chapter of the Vocational Industrial Clubs
of America (VICA).
Ms. Doganieri who is enrolled in the dental assistant course, will now represent New Jersey in the U.S. skill Olympics in
Atlanta in June.

won a silver medal in the radio and TV repair contest, and Middle Township High School senior John Freese, also an electronics technology student, took a bronze. In addition, the entire VICA Chapter from the Jersey Cape Vo-Tech won second place in the outstanding club competition.
