Secretaries Nominate Redfern
Louis Taylor
Appointed Police Lt. AVALON - Louis E. Taylor has been sworn In as a lieutenant on the Police Force. While his wife Carolyn »• held the Bible. Lt. Taylor was sworn in by Borough Clerk Virginia Oler. Mayor Ellsworth Armacost and Police Chief Joseph Foley took part in the ceremony. An eight and a half year veteran of the force, Mr. Taylor was selected for his overall qualifications, and was the only candidate of the top three to pass both the written and oral exam. He is a graduate of VVildwood Catholic High School, the University of Tampa, and Atlantic Community College, He has a Bachelor of Science Degree and an Associate's degree in Law Enfor-
cement.
He served in the Navy and was honorably discharged in 1968. Before coming back to Cape May County, he taught junior high in Tampa, he worked six months in Stone Harbor before joining the Avalon force in December 1971. He holds a state teacher's certificate, police firearm's instructor certificate, state driving instructor's license and ranks as a Police Combat Pistol Master with the National Rifle Association.
AVALON - 'Three employees of the Lower Township School District have been nominated for official seats in the Cape May County Association of Educational Secretaries Betty McPherson, secretary at Lower Township, presented the nominations for officers during the recent meeting Cape Unit Of S. Phila. Hi. Alumni Eyed OCEAN CITY — Many former students of South Philadelphia High School who now live in Cape May County have been invited to -aqjl a.m. April 27 brunch at the Flanders Hotel, 11th St. and the Boardwalk. Several area leaders are graduates of the school and have promised to attend. Also on hand to greet the assembled guests will be the current general general alumni president Bill , Escher of Haddonfield, who will show slides of former graduates who < have become famous in many walks of life. The gathering has been 1 scheduled in the hope that a Cape May County chapter of the alumni association can be formed. Squad Auxiliary Luncheon Today VILLAS - The Ladies Auxiliary of the Lower Township Rescue Squad luncheon is noon, April 16, at the Squad Building, Main and Georgia Aves. The menu will be chicken chow mein, roll and butter, dessert, beverage. There will be a social following the luncheon.
