STONE HARBOR - The parish council of St. Paul’s Woman Catholic Church is planning a 40th anniversary celebration for the pastor the Right Rev. Msgr Vincent J Giammarino, whose ordination occured in May 1940. Council president Frank Academy Open House Thursday FISHING CREEK -. Heritage Christian Academy, on Fishing Creek Rd. near Bayshore Rd. here, will sponsor an open house 7:30 p.m. April 17 to familiarize interested parents with the program offered by the Academy. After the history and purpose of the school are presented by board president Donald Bailey, faculty members will explain the objectives in each grade and display the materials used. A representative of the building committee will show plans for the new school buildirg, which is to be completed for the fall term. The 10,000 sq. ft. building will provide six classrooms, offices and a multi-purpose room. The academy will have grades K through 8 on the nineacre campus. "The academy’s purpose is. to teach each boy and girl about God, God’s world, and their place in it, ” noted administrator Sharon Fincke. "The curriculum places strong emphasis on the basics: reading, writing and mathematics." Children in the kindergarten learn to read, to write and to do arithmetic, and those entering the prefirst class are given reading tests. Because enrollment is limited, teachers are able to give individual instruction. For further information, call the school at 886-3475.

D'Elia was named chairman of the committee to plan the celebration details. He has .selected other members of council as well as a number of parishioners to help in the anniversary celebration, planned for Sunday, May 18. Plans call for a midafternoon Mass, a reception and catered dinner in Maris Stella Auditorium, Avalon. The Mass will be in St: Paul’s. Associate St. Paul’s pastor, the Rev. Fr. James L. Ronan will be master of ceremonies at the dinner. Slide Program On Camp Sun. At Bible Church N. WILDWOOD - This Sunday night at 7 representatives of -Camp Ha-Lu-Wa-Sa, a Christian camp in Hammonton, will present a program of miBlc and slides at Central Bible Church, 18th find Central Aves. in North Wildwood. Camp Ha-Lu-Wa-Sa offers a wide variety of programs for people of all ages, including retreats, banquets, ladies’ luncheons, men’s fellowships, other outings. Rev. Rathmell Sets Services RIO GRANDE - "A Wise Choice" will be the theme for the message delivered by Pastor Guy Rathmell at Grace Gospel Chapel 11 a m. Sunday. Sunday School is at 9:45 a.m. with classes for all ages. At the 7 p.m. service, the pastor will speak on "The Nature of People." The chapel's radio program "Sending Forth the Gospel Light" is heard each Tuesday evening at 6:30 over WRIO-FM (102.3).
