The report's findings are due this spring - after this year’s campground spraying program by the government. Some authorities have cited Sevin as a substance that is especially dangerous to pregnant women. Even before the reports began, Lower Township authorities had come out against the state's use of the Sevin spray to fight

gypsy moths.

IN THE WAKE of the birth defect reports, the director of the county board of freeholders sent a personal letter to other municipalities in the county asking them to sijspend spraying with Sevin until Conclusive reports are in. Freeholder

director Anthony Catanoso's plea was personal because the freeholders as a governing body didn’t agree the Sevin spray was culpable. The lack of a consensus among the freeholders isn’t unioue upon county residents. Even among neighbors of the women who experienced the abnormal births, there is lack of agreement about cause.
