, Mrs. Sweeney trgraduate of Chestnut I College in Philadelphia it has studied at Temple University and the Academic di Bella Arti In Ravenna, Italy. She has made a study of com memorative medieval and Tudor brasses in England and Ireland, has been employed by the Lxmdon Brass Rubbing COitres as an Instructor.

STONE HARBOR - Osman M. Corson, borough engineer for over 50 years, was recently presented with a silver plpte by Glenn Townley, president of the Chamber of Commerce, in recognition of Mr. Corson’s lifelong service to the town. Mr. Corson and his wife were honored guests at the April dinner meeting where he reminisced about the early days of the borough and how open trolley* wu^e used between here and Cape May Court House. Mr. Corson also recalled how horse and

carriage was the means of transportation to and from Avalon along thd beach and how the mode of travel was controlled by tides. While retired as the

borough engineer, he still maintains his office in Ok? Court House. He has also served as municipal engineer for many other Jersey Cape communities.

COURT HOUSE - The 100th anniversary of the N.J. Agricultural ■Experiment Station will be observed during a buffet dinner, 6 p.m. May 8 at the Lockwood 4-H Center on Dennisvilte Rd. Dean Grant Walton of Cook College Rutgers will be keynote speaker. The dinner is expected to draw

some 350 people. It was in 1915 that the first Extension Agent came to Cape May County. The N.J. Cooperative Extension Service had been formed throe years earlier to bring to local people the results of research and other information provided by the Agricultucal Experiment Station.

COURT HOUSE - The Middle Township AARP will sponsor a bazaar, 10 to 3 May 17 at the Methodist Church Hall, Main and Church Sts. There will be tables for cake sales, white elephants, clothes, plants, ts and crafts. Refreshments will also be on sale. The next meeting of

Middle Township AARP chapter will be 1:30 p.m. May 13 at the Methodist Hall when County Historical Museum slides on Indian artifacts in Cape May county will be shown. The Chapter will also elect officers, and oil members are urged to attend. — Norman Gabriel
