"Wallace Kaufman, a well-known conservationist, and Orrin Pllkey, a leading marine geologist give sobering answers to these questions of vital environmental concern. > •THEY CONTEND that our coastlines are part of a complex and dynamic beach system that survives only by unceasing motion. Does the solution to the problem of our eroding shoreline lie in adapting ourselves to this natural process, or in further armoring the beach with man-made fortifications?" The timing of the BOMC sales pitch is ironic insofar as Cape May is concerned — it came Just i few weeks prior to an Army Corps of Engineers hearing in Cape May on the Corp’s massive beach Replenishment proposal for this area. The May 19, public meeting, to bp staged in the city’s beachfront convention hall, will give Corps officials an opportunity to update the project plan for the public, and a large turnout of

Sentenced In Hold-up COURT HOUSE - Judge James' O’Neill last week sentenced an Erma man to upwards of 10 yeays in the state correctional center for armed robbery of the Cape May Court House A*P in August 1978. According to authorities, John Season admitted to being the hold-up man, and that Spyros Spyropoulos was involved as a conspirator. He received a year’s sentence in county Jail. Authorities said the two men had turned state’s evidence to an earlier trial of a third suspect, North Wildwood service station owner James Brockman, who had been accused of providing the hold-up gun. Brockman was acquitted.
