“School Days. School Days, Dear Old Golden Rulr-Dwys" ••• Stone Harbor’s children are* in good hands. I was firmly convinced of this when I visited our elementary school at 93rd and Third Aves.. and talked wjth R. Donald Wendorf, administrative principal. At this count there are 55 students in grades one through eight and 10 in kindergarten. (We have a share-the-plan with Avalon for these small fry, and Betty Wenger is their teacher.) Five of our boys and girls will be graduating from eighth grade in June, and 10 will receive diplomas from Middle Township High

School. NO DOUBT Stone Harbor has an advantage over larger schools because it is possible for the youngsters to receive extra individual attention. Mary Elliabelh Boyle, Judith McAlarnen. Esther Pacitti, Mary Jane Kelly. Margaret Crintmins, and husband and wife team Bonnie and Robert lleidorn instruct, in the basic subjects. Debby Seattler takes care of Title I Math. Departing from the 3-Rs, Robin ^ Zubko teaches music, Karen Sobala art. and Ardis Crull works in a spotless and efficient home economics room. For both lesson aid and pure en-. joyment, Marian Robertson maintains a fine library. WE HAVE a dedicated trio who makes sure that every day is A-OK In our school: Betty Rhfgeway is administrative secretary, Ruth Hewlett, school lunch coordinator, and Raymond Anderson, custodian. Mr. Wendorf came to our school five years ago, and he states that we have one of the finest elementary programs in the State of New Jersey. A high percentage of our students achieve honor roll status at MTHS, and those who apply for admission to private schools with stringent standards never have to worry about being accepted. TO KEEP the kids culturally aware, there are occasional jaunts to Philadelphia, w-ith visits to the Franklin Institute. Art Museum, ( Museum of

Natural History, and .Chinatown for dinner. FMd trips are also planned. among them a recent trek to Historic Gardner’s Basin in Atlantic City. All of the children participate in the Christmas program and a goodly , number work on cake and j hoagie sales and similar projects to raise money for • trips and school nee^s. There’s true togetherness tfl Stone Harbor

School.
