Awards ‘Banquet’ Thursday COURT HOUSE - The annual Awards Night for Middle Township High School will be 7 p.m. May 29 In the gym where the featured speaker will be Fern Labati, head teach of girls basketball at Trenton State College. Awards, donated by the | > Court House Kiwanis Club, will be presented to the most valuable participant in all sports and cheer leading. The Charles E. Douglass Trophy will be awarded the senior boy and girl who were most outstanding in sports during their high school careers. Due to school district | budgetary problems, a dessert buffet and beverages will replace the usual 'dinner. Cost is 92 per person. Advance Lifesaving Course Starts Soon CAPE MAY — Enrollees for an Advanced Lifesaving course starting the first week of June at .the elementary school pool are still being accepted. On our boat, we came in with a 55 lb. drum I got lucky on, and John Manganaro caught the biggest weakfish, an eight lb. trophy fish, while Charlie came in second with a S'* lb. tidenmner, mine went to six lbs. BUT THE BIG story of the night was that Len Guthrie, our local taxidermist, caught his very first drum ever fishing with Danny I Kludiklns, the mailman. Len was using a 20 lb. test, and he says he thinks he got lucky because he ate drum fish this week. In other action in the bay, Ron Tompkins aboard the Ron-Ell had 10 weakfish up to 12 lbs. Out near Brandywine. In the Lower Cape Optimist Drumfish Derby, the winner was John Patumbetty of Clarks berg, N.J., with a \n*4 lb. drum for a possible New Jersey State record. Runner-up was Harky B. Hendrickson with an SOY* lb. drum, and in third position was William King of Palmyra withanSOMi lb. drum. William King won South Jersey Fishing & Hunting Center’s tournament with an 00'* lb. drum. Second place went to Dorn D'Angelo of Philadelphia with a 784 lb. druni, and third prize winner waa Tom Fob of VUias with a 72 lb. drum...
