Parkway Exxon then refueled to throttle Captain Sig’s Seafood 20-9 with the help of Jim Hand's 5 for 5 perfortnance with the bat. Kona Sports kept rolling as well by blltixiog PAR Associates 28-4 and nipping Bayshore Lounge 4-1 as Ralph Sehaeffer provided the punch and Fred Hack the pitch. The Ugly Mug finally surrendered a run enroute to a 10-4 conquest of the CView Inn. Jim Riddle and One Zebrowski sparked the win with key hits during an 8-4 run fifth inning and with their defensive play. EVERLON FABRICS sewed up victory number three to raise their record to 3 and 3 by whitewashing National Associates’ 12.0. Robbie Wilson went 3 for 3 and Julio Ouz notched the win tospark Everlon. Burke Motors Sales waxed the Flim Flam Candles 16-4 with a barrage of four round trippers. Doc Bab ore lead the parade with a pair of homers and Ron Denny and'Pat Clancy followed with their shots. CAPE MAY - The city recently sponsored a men’s and women’s team in a New Jersey State Invitational Volleyball Tournament at Morris County Community

College.

The men. seeded In the toughest bracket which eventually spawned the overall champion lost three matches including a pair of overtime losses. The women’s team knocked off every opponent they faced to win their division and

gain a berth In the finals. The women lost only a close final metch to finish second place out of 36 teams from all over New Jersey. The team players were Merc Baumann, Debbie Brett. Debbie Carr. Robin Hand, Sheri Hkkok, Sharon Merkle and lone

Wenrich.

The men included Bud Bowman, John Wlhey, Rick Ferrante. Rill Arnold. Dave Pfasentine and Merc

Baumann.

Lifeguard Test June 7 •

SEA ISLE CITY - Capt. Thomas McCann has announced the annual lifeguard tests will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday. June 7 at the 44th St beach. “Each year we have a few openings in our lifesaving squad," Capt. McCann noted "and through this comprehensive testing program on the seventh, we will be able to select a

few good people for our patrol.” The testing includes swimming, rowing and running. Successful ap^ plicants must also complete further training locally before being assigned. No prior registration required, applicants should be at the beach pfior to the 10:30 a m. starting time to register.

Putting Safety Into Boating Fun

So five years ago. a Boating Safety Course was initiated for students at the Teitelman School here. Under the auspices of the N.J. Marine Police, the

Satisfactory completion resulted in the award of a certificate for the Baric Boatman’s Safety Course from the state Department of Environmental Protection.

Entry forms may be picked up at any Middle Township School Office,, the Whjtesboro Recreation Center, Leroy May Community Center or by calling the Recreation Office, 466-3530. Entry forms should be returned by June 6.
