Starting at 7:45. observances began with the flag raising at the Post Home Then a contingent consisting of Legion Officers, the Middle Township High School NJROTC Rifle Squad" and Color Guard and Rev Wilbur Hoffman of the First United Methodist Church, left for Evans Comer in Swainton where it met with the representatives of Stone Harbor’s Stephen F. Ludlum Legion Post and rendered a rifle salute for the veteransbuHed there. THE ENTOURAGE next proceeded to the Methodist Cemetery in South Dennis where a similar salute took place. The Stone Harbor delegation then left for the Methodist Cemetery in Court House while the (>>urt House section con tinued on to St. Elizabeth’s Roman Catholic Cemetery in Goshen where a similar ceremony was observed The next stop was at The Goshen Methodist Church Cemetery where a salute was offered to the veterans interred there The cemetery in Whitesboro followed where respect was shown to those fallen veterans by the rifle sauad Returning to Court House the ritual was repeated at the First Baptist Church

Post Home, the annual American Legion Memorial Parade was formed. In line were three pieces of apparatus from the local fire company, led by Chief Calvin Back. Legion veterans rode in the classic cars of Freeholder Ralph Evans behind parade marshtfl Tyler who

REPRESENTATIVES of the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts and Brownies marched behind the internationally famous, awardwinning Pinther Marching Band under the direction of Richard Ludwig. Following the band were delegations from the Dancers Two Studio of Nancy Gibson and Suzy Bums, dressed in costumes, from the Little ■ League of Middle Township. the 4-H club, the Cape May riding club THE PARADE route was on Hand Ave , down S. Boyd to Stites Ave.. where the band played for the residents of the South Cape May Nursing Home. Proceeding up Main St. to Romney PI , the procession took Railroad Ave. to Mechanic St. and back to the post home on Hand

After the address, cokes, hot dogs and coffee were served in the Post Home by members of auxiliary and the Legion BilliUirrman ‘Lighthouse’ Opening Sat. For the Season W CAPE MAY - The Lighthouse Christian Coffee home opens for, the season, 7:30 p.m. June.7 with Bill Powell, guitarest and soloist, as the featured performer. John Strauss will speak at the 10:45 a m. Service Sunday at First Assembly of God Church Sunday School for all ages is at 9:45 a.m. The B’nai Israel singers, a special musical group will be featured at the 7 p.m. service. The, church, at 420 Broadway, sponsors the Lighthouse, adjacent to the church.
