CAPE MAY - An American Red Cross Lifesaving class for 15-year-olds and up will be sponsored by the city beginning in mid-June. Classes will be conducted at the elementary school pool 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays and 6-9 p.m. Fridays for three consecutive weeks. Call 884-8411 ext. 20 or 27 to pre-register. 2nd Annual Point Run June 21 CAPE MAY POINT - The second annual Cape May Point 5-Mile Run, an event which drew more than 550 registrants last year, is Saturday morning. June 21. Actually two races, the event also features a 2-Mile Run for Fun, which begins at 9:30. The main run starts a half-hour later. Runners who haven’t pre-registered may sign up at the firehouse 8 to 9 a m the day of the race. Ribbons will go to the First, Second and Third place finishers in the 2-Mile Run; in the 5-Mile Run. First, Second and Third trophies will go to those top finisher? in each of five categories —19 and under. 20-29. 30-39, 40-49, and 50 and over. The scenic course (lighthouse, Lake Lily, concrete ship, etc.) is flat and described as fast The run takes place rain or shine. Proceeds from the run benefit the local volunteer fire company.
