CAPE MAY-An exhibit of the works of approximately 30 members of the Philadelphia Water* Color Gi|h opens June 14 at the Carriage House Galleries of the Cape May County Art League on the Physict Estate here. There will be an opening reception frmn 2 to 5 antf again from 7 30 to 9:30 with tea in the afternoon and wide in the evening. The public is invited. THE PHILADELPHIA Water Color Gub was founded in 1900 and its membership includes some of the area’s moat noted artists James Sander of Philadephia, and also a member of the Art League,

We read daily of Oka perils, joys and bittersweet experiences of the Freedom Flotilla which' is transporting thousands of Cuban refugees to the United States. Overloaded, unseaworthy crafts of all sizes and descriptions attempt to cross the Straits of Florida to freedom. Many run into trouble on the rough seas and call for help from the Coast Cftiard Some of those calls are being answered by Coast Guard personnel from Cape May County who have temporarily been assigned to the rescue effort in Florida. * * AN OPERATIONS Center for Cuban Refugee Evacuation has been established by the Coast Guard in Key West r Fla . W> oversee the mission A helicopter from Air Station Cape May has been sent there to assist the Coast Guard in their attempts to control this flotilla. The helicopter is being piloted by LCDR C. Penning with U. R. Brooks serving as copilot. Crew members are D. Adams, R. Evans and M. Thompson Recently while flying off the Coast Guard Cutter Dallas, the local helicopter crew assisted in the rescue of a boat loaded with 700 refugees It was through the efforts Of our Cape May Coast Guard personnel that no lives were lost in that mission.
