COURTHOUSE-Beech Fox has put Rep. Bill Hugher on notice that the incumbent Democrat congressman is in for the "BatOe of his political career.” On June 3, Fox became the Republican candidate for Congress from New Jersey’s 2nd District with a'' primary victory over John Mahdney of Milmay. GOP voters picked Fox , by a margin of nearly fl.ooo votes, although Mahoney outdistanced his opponent by more than 7 to I in Atlantic City. In a victory statement from his headquarters, here. Boro Sets Trash Regs. AVALON — Plastic bags to contain trash and garbage are a No-No here — unless the bags themselves are secured in tightly covered containers. That’s one of the regulations annouhced for the summer season in an effort to keep the borough neat and clean. For June. Containers for glass bottle recycling are located at 13th and Dune Dr. Bulk trash including old stoves and refrigerators will be picked up the last Monday of every month Refrigerators doors must be removed or secured to prevent opening.^ Armacost Memorial Units Formed AVALON — At a recent meeting in Council chamber?, a standing room crowd turned out to offer suggestions and help establish a memorial for the late Marion P Armacost. Itepresenta lives from various organizations and churches along with borough officials tfdd municipal workers presented and discussed several ideas, but the final choice narrowed to two for a decision to be made by Mayor Ellsworth Armacost and hisdaughers Two major committees were formed and they will meet 10:30 a.m. June 12. The Finance Committee will be headed by Mrs ^Clifford Off Jr. with members Robert Golden. Ron Phillips and Mrs. Pauline Petrica. This committee will set a goal '•> and organize the campaign to raise funds. Alice Marvel is chairing the * Selection Committee. Serving with her will be Edna Ellsworth, Jean Lcmke, Harry Baxtor and Ortho Summer. This group will determine the type of plaque nr monument to be purchased. Concerned was expressed that whatever is decided should be a lasting memorial because Mrs. Armacost gave so much of herself in time, ideas and wciHc to the beautification and enhancement of the borough.
