Enrollment Shift Forces ACC Layoffs MAYS LANDING - j Atlahtic Community College’s Board of Trustees voted to lay off 14 faculty members and administrators to overcome a $825,000 budget deficit. The board adopted a resolution to lay-off 11 faculty and 3 administrators effective July at its May meeting. The cuts are part of a staff reduction which could total 31 positions. President liiwrencc R. Winchell Jr. said the reduction was necessary because of inadequate funding by the states and a dcrease in the college’s full-time enrollment. "Despite the fact the more people than ever before are taking advantage of all of ACC’s educational programs, the College has witnessed a shift from full-time enrollment to part-time and credit-free programs,’’ he noted.
