STONE HARBOR - Registration and tryouts for the local Linns Club Ullle league begin for vnunfpters ages 8 to 13 on June 30. All frvnuts, practices and games are at the new baseball diamond. 80th St. and 2nd 'Ave.. where registrations will continue thru Thursday. July 3 then throughout the season 9 am. on Monday. Wednesday and Fridays. ASSISTANT Recreation Director Wes McGuckin notes that everyone registering plays; no one is ever cut. Youngsters qualifying for league competition Rre assigned to one of four teams, playing two games and two practices each week Most of the 8-to 10-year-olds remain in the 9 a.m. group and receive official practice on fundamentals
along with practice games THE PROGRAM is once again sponsored by the I Jons Club which has been actively involved in, the borough’s baseball teams since 1950 Mr McGuckin will be assisted in the program by recreation staffer Billy Martin. Both have been former players and coaches in the league and they will handle the organization and operation of all practices as well as officiating at all games. league play begins 6 p.m. Mnday July 7. Games are played Monday and Friday evenings and Tuesday and Thursday mornings.
