He recalls plunking the banjo in Uie Wildwood String Band circa 1929 when they would hop over to Stone Harbor to entertain the tourists who came down on the excursion trains from Philly. , THE RISLEY BROTHERS HAD QUITE a PR thing going to lure Pennsylvanians to Seven Mile Beach and it has certainly paid off in the ensuing years. Incorporated as a borough 66 years ago, Stone Harbor’s first mayor was Howard Risley and its borough clerk Clarence Letikns. Since that memorable Jlay in May, our town has steadily progressed and Mayor Wood maintains that the combined efforts of the townspeople have earned Stone Harbor the distinctive title of "The Seashore At Its

A-1R25. goes beyond this and will eventually lead to the State’s confiscation of much of the land in the shore resorts,” he said. THIS ‘'confiscation process" be continued will eventually lead "to the rulnallon of the tourism Industry since It will discourage investment In the shore communities. "After all. who is going to build a home, motel or restaurant In any communltv where thev know (hot If a structure Is M per cent destroyed by a storm, the state will not permit them to repair It. In effect, the proposed bill will encourage abandonment, and then confiscation by the State. This entire concept Is against the very fabric of the right to own property In America." fhlnnlcl

declared. HE IS ALSO opposed to the definition of tKe dune and shorefront area as outlined in A-1B25 Uiat it is located between the ocean waters and the first paved public road that, runs parallel tn the ocean waters. "This takes in a very wide area, and the state will have absolute say on what goes on in this area. Not only that, but if the road is ever washed out in a storm, the state will move the line back to the next parallel road. It will then impose its restrictions on this arga. Eventually, the so-called dune and shore area could extend All the way back to the bay area, and the state will control everything. Tliere will be nothing left for the private homeowner. Everything that has been attractive to tourists will also be gone.” hestated.
