Chamber Building Problem VILLAS - The Lower Township Planning Board is considering what, if any, action to take against the Lower Township Chamber of Commerce, because of the service organization’s repeated failure to complete construction of its headquarters. The structure, which is also supposed to serve as an information center and meeting place for other organizations, is located on township land near the entrance to the municipal government complex here. THE PLANNING Board has granted two extensions to the Chamber to complete the structure, a former temporary banking office. The last extgision came six months ago with a warning that no further extension would be permitted beyond July 1.1960. At the latest Planning Board meeting, chairman Lionel Eatroff suggested that each member consider the pros and cons of either pulling the bond or, in the alternative, overlooking the situation but beipg prepared to discuss what action to take at the next meeting. The board meets tomorrow night (Thursday at 7:30) FINANCE AND manpower problems have hampered the completion of the Chamber building over the past year. The exterior of the structure is now virtually complete, landscaping and drainage the major outside work to be completed. On the inside, paneling and

wiring remain to be finished. According to a Chamber spokesperson, the cohstruction of a branch of the county library on an adjacent parcel of township land has raised a question of how drainage and surfacing should be completed at the nearby Chamber site. CHAMBER PRESIDENT Warren Andrews, described as one of the hardest working volunteers on the Chamber building, has been hospitalized, but the spokesperson said where Mr. Andrews up and around, he would probably ask the township for another extension The Chamber spokesperson also reported that members of another area organization, interested in securing a place for their meeting, may be helping with the paneling. As far as the outside work is concerned, the spokesperson said the Chamber was trying to raise more money for landscaping.
