MIDDLE TWP - The summer film series at the Wetlands Institute on Stone Harbor Blvd. will feature two films on birds, starting 8:15p.m. July 16. Of prime interest to naturalists, the film “Adetie Penguins of the Antarctic” displays at close range the entire life cycle of these amusing birds, including family organization, hatching and feeling of the young. The public is invited to attend, admission is free.

Named in honor of former Mayor Edgar V.H. Bell, the race will be at the beach between 35th and 37th St., just south of the lifeguard station at the end of the boardwalk. SCHEDULED TO begin at 5:30 p.m., it will include l'i doubles rowing race, mile swim out in the surf, and 'g mile singles rowing. The events usually end with the Surf Dash a 200-vd. run into the surf followed

by a swim.

“At the present time, we are narrowing down the guards into a field of 10 crews, 13 singles and 5 swimmers”. Wolf said. •The practice and preparation that goes into this city race help get the Avalon guards ready for the competition in the TriResort Races scheduled for August 13 in Avalon. The best from our local race will represent us in the other' races over the

summer."
