Childbirth Library To Get Best Qf Show
Classes Due
The Childbirth And Parent Education Association (Cape) will be sponsoring preparation for childbirth classes for women in their sixth month of pregnancy. Classes will begin Aug. 8, they will be one night a week for eight weeks from 7:30-10:30 Topics to be covered during the prenatal classes include factual knowledge of pregnancy, childbirth, breast and bottle feeding, relaxation and breathing techniques for childbirth. Also there will be five parenting classes after the delivery of the child. For more information and class registration, call 485-4829 (The next series of classes will begin Oct. 29, Dec. 21. Caribbean Cruises Set N. CAPE MAY - The Golden Age Club of the Wikiwoods is sponsoring a Caribbean cruise in the late fall, and club member May Coer is taking reservations now at 884-1483. Participants will leave Nov. 8. returning Nov. 15 from the trip which will include bus to and from Philadelphia, round trip flight to San Juan, and passage aboard the Cunard Countess liner with deluxe stateroom.
CAPE MAY - The second of two consecutive exhibits of the work of members of the Philadelphia Water ColOr Club will open at the Carriage House Gallery of the Cape May County Art League, on the Physlck Estate here July 19. The opening reception will be from 2 to 5:30 that afternoon and continue from 7:30 to 9:30 in the evening. Refreshments will be served and the public is
invited.
JUDGES FROM the club will have made their choice of the best picture from both shows, which club president James Souder will present that evening to City Librarian Emma Elwell as a gift to the local library. City Officials are also expected to attend as honored guests. Visitors to this second show, which will continue through Aug. 12, will also have an opportunity to cast their votes for their favorite picture, as they did in the first show. The overall winner will be honored by the club. CLUB MEMBERS whose names begin with letters from the first half of the alphabet were represented in the first show and the second show includes the rest of the membership. Among those whose work can be seen in the exhibit opening July 19, are president Souder, who is
also an Art League member; portrait printer Dorothy Fere; Howard Watson, widely known for his renditions of Philadelphia scenes; and Alice Steer Wilson, who teaches at the League. George Gansforth arranged both shows. Regular gallery hour* at the League are 11 to 4 Tuesday through Saturday and l to4 Sunday. 4 Judges Named For Art Show
N. WILDWOOD Judges have been named for the 15th annual North Wildwood Art Show, July 26
of\Beach Dr.
They are Gloria Bacsujlaky, Deomenlc DeStefano, John Baltadonis, and Bernard Fetlock, all from the Philadelphia area. Bacsujlaky studied art in Paris, Rome, and the Chicago Art Institute. She is a member of the Paint' Club, Artist Equity, and the American Color Print Society. Some of her paintings are part of the collections at the Univ. of Pennsylvania Law School, Provident Bank, and St. Agnes Hospital in
Philadelphia.
DeStefano studied at the Cannon Art School and the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. He is widely known for this bold and free style of transparent watercolor. He is one of the artists included in the book "Watercolor Your Way" by
Carl Schmalz.
Baltadonis is coordinator of art in the Haverford Township School District. He is also an oil painting instructor in the Haverford Adult School Program. His media are oil painting, egg tempera, pen and ink, and
calligraphy.
Fetlock was director of Allens Lane Art Center for four years. He attended the Fleisher Art Memorial school, Barnes Foundation, and the Ecole Des Beaux Aries in Paris, France. He is a designer of silk screen, crests and logos, and has lectured on sculpture and
print making.
