Mclntire And Battle Lead Conf.
CAPE MAY - Dr. John Battle of Elkins Park, Pa., and Dr. Carl Mclntire of Collingswood, are the featured speakers at the Cape May Bible Con-
ference thru July 1^.
Dr. Battle is the Professor of New Testament at Faith Theological Seminary in Elkins Park. He has had 12 years of pastoral experience and has served as - the Moderator of the New Jersey-Philadelphia Presbytery of the Bible Presbyterian Church. He also serves on the executive Committee of the Independent Board for
Presbyterian Foreign Missions. During the week, Dr. Battle will be giving Bible studies on the book of I Thessa Ionia ns, and will be speaking on such timely topics as: Examples of parents in the Scripture dealing with their children; the relationship of the church and state; the Christian grace of giving; •and the purity and Scripture peace of the Church. Drives To Death Off Side of Rd.
Collingswood. edits the weekly Christian newspaper 'Christian Beacon, ’ and is the president of the International Council of Christian Churches. Services are twice daily at the Christian Admiral. 10 a.m. in Reformation Hall and 8 p.m. in Gardner Memorial Auditorium. Prayer meetings are held one half hour prior to each service. Fifteen minutes prior to the evening services an organ-piano recital is performed by Dr. Irwin Steele and Mr. Brad Gsell.
VILLAS —. A 20-year-old local man died at the wheel of his car early last Wednesday morning, apparently after falling asleep while driving home from Wildwood. Michael J. Marchina of 320 Oakdale Ave was pronounced dead on arrival at Burdette Tomlin Hospital following the mishap around 3 a.m. July 9. He was traveling west toward the Villas along Fulling Mill Rd. when he "apparently fell asleep and went off to the left into the woods," according to Lower Township Police Lt. Chuck Thornton. ACCORDING TO police, Marchina's car went off the roadway, struck an underground telephone cable stanchion, flipped over and bumped through the woods striking some trees. There were no skid marks on the road surface and, according to the officer, his vehicle "Just went to the left" on a straight section of the highway between twocurves. HE WAS A baker for the Marine Italian Bakery in Wildwood, and was a local resident for 14 yean. An Air Force veteran, he was buried in the Cape May County ' Veterans Cemetery, Court House. He is survived by his parents, William and Rose of North Cape May; two brothers, William Broderick of Cold Springs and Joseph of North Cape May; and four sisten; Margaret Unruh and Elizabeth both of North Cape Mav, Rosemary Sweeney of DelHaven and
Roberta of Villas. His death marked the second auto fatality this year in Lower Township;
