OK Given To Dump Gam Water

LOWER TWP - Snow Food Products has applied for a federal Environmental Protection Agency permit to continue discharging effluent from its clam shucking operations on Ocean Dr. here, and the EPA has tentatively decided to Issue the permission. Involved is the discharge of some 165,000 gallons of effluent into the upper Thorofare tributary

resulting from the washing of some 4 5 tons of surf clams daily during the processing operations. The existing discharge reouired a National Pollutant Discharge Elimination systems (NPDES) permit, and EPA’s tentative decision to grant the request is subject to the company’s meeting certain effluent limitations and standards. \
