Babies Preparing For 48th Parade CAPE MAY - The City's 48th annual Babv Parade will be 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 8 when the contestants will march along the traditional Beach Dr. parade route from Broadway to Convention Hall where the final judging and awards presentation will take place. There are seven categories this year, somewhat different than in past parades; — they include: Pretty Baby, for 2 years old and under, Decorated Carriages, Twirling Groups. Children Walking in Fancy Dress. Children Waiting in Comic Dress. Decorated on Wheels and Commercial Floats. Phillips Top J\avy Recruit AVALON — Fireman recruit Mark A. Phillips recently received the Outstanding Recruit Award at the U.S. Naval Training Center in San Diego. The son of Mr and Mrs Robert Phillips and grandson of Mr. and Mrs George Phillips of this community. he was the top graduate at the center and received a letter of commendation during a Captain s Meritorious Mast for his initiative, perserverance and devotion to duty.

Historic 1 Dennisville Club Topic Mon. AVALON - An illustrated talk on historic Dennisville will be presented following the business meeting of the Women’s Civic Club, 12:30 July 28 in the Avalon Room of Borough Hall. 32nd St. and Dune Dr. According to club president Jayne Reddie, Dennisville artist Alice Belanger will be the speaker. She lives in one of two historic houses which she owns, and has converted a horse ham on her property, built in 1835, as her studio. Guests are welcome; refreshments will be served.
