Academy Race Draws Over 50
S. COLD SPRING - Jim Burke of Egg Harbor Twp. was the overall winner in the 2-mile run. sponsored recently by South Jersey Christian Academy as part of its fund-raising fair at Hidden Valley Ranch herd. Burke was among some 55 runners of various ages who competed. About 60 started the race; 65 had registered. AWARD RIBBONS went to the winners in four male and female age categories. In addition, seven head and wrist bands, donated by MVP Sporting Goods Store, were awarded to the lastplace finishers. S.J. Christian Academy. Boro Tennis Continues After Berardelli Win AVALON - The Recreation Department has announced results to date of the 1960 Tennis Tournament schedule. The first tolimament June 30 thru July 8 was the Women’s Singles between Priscilla Ebert and Carol Berardelli. Ms. Berardelli won 4 to 2. The Women's Doubles are taking place now thru July 22 followed by the Men's Singles, July 28 thru Aug. 5 MEN’S DOUBLES and mixed doubles will be Aug. 11-19 and Aug. 25-Sept. 2. For the younger set, there will be a Junior Tournament (coed) for 12 and under Aug. 6-10; and the Teen Tournament will be Boys ages 13-16, Aug. 13 thru 17 and Girls, ages Idle. Aug. 13 thru 17. ALL GRAND Masters will play as scheduled; this is for men and women 45 and over. Awarded Contract COLD SPRING - Cape bland Marina on Ocean Hiway here has been awarded a $55,689 U.S Coast Guard contract for the conversion of seven 31 ft. port security boats from 300-M Cummins to GM 6V53engines. Benefit S’ball Game Schednled COURT HOUSE — Phillies II and Murphy’s Mart teams will compete in a benefit softball game for the Muscular Dystrophy Assn. Aug. 3 at Memorial Field here. Tickets for the event are on sale now at jamesway and Murphy’s Mart. Hot dogs and sodas will be sold at the field during the game.
