their handling of the largest building program ever undertaken by the Coast Guard in Cape May. Any Coast Guardsman stationed at the Training Center for at least one half of the designated period is authorized to wear the Coast Guard Unit Commendation ribbon.

SIX TRAINING vessels from the U.S. Naval Academy will make a port call at the Training Center on Aug. 11. The 100 Midshipmen aboard the 110 ft. YP’s will be the second group from Annapolis to put into Cape May this summer. The overnight visits provide an opportunity for recreation in Cape May in addition to providing training experience in coastal and harbor piloting and squadron steaming along the mid-Atlantic coast.

IT IS A NORMAL occurrence during the summer to see new faces among the Coast Guard community as this Is the time of year when most transfers take place. But this year there is an unusual number of new faces among the commanding officers of the major units in Cape May.
