I NOTICED that on Aug 16there is to be a fair held to benefit the County Park Zoo, and I recommend, it highly. This zoo is one of our highlights in Cape May County, and is cared for by Leon Fulginiti, director of parks, and “Skip” Kehr. They deserve a lot of credit for their work, and our Board of Chosen Freeholders rate an excellence award for backing this institution. If you’re looking for a pleasant afternoon off the beaten path, why not visit our County Park anfonjoy the outdoors. I saw “Berole” Buganski and “Muggins" Hughes down at Breakwater Plaza with their boat on a trailer loaded with crab pots ready for use in the Bay They said they had gotten 53 big weakies from the Bug Light area on Sunday. Capt. Jim Cicchitti on the Starlight' told me that fishing was great in the Bay from the punk grounds clear down to the 60’ slough inside of Brandywine light. HIS BROTHER. Capt. Dave Cicchitti has also been loading up the ’Starlight’ with big blues chumming at night in the ocean Capt. Charlie Selby on the Rainbow also had Jhe same kind of report; he says there’s a big spread of fish from the punk grounds all the way to the Rips off Cape May Point. Most days low man on Capt. Charlie's boat have been bringing back around 10 fish and 20 to 40 fish per angler is not uncommon. During the past week fish have been biting all day through both ebb and flood tide, and even during slack wateis-lhere have been a mixed bag of weaks, blues and flounder too!
