Preservation has notified the county that the New As bury Meeting House on

Shore rd. here has been designated as an Historic Place and listed on the

State Register by the State Historic Review Com-

The church, just north of the *78 House' restaurant, was built in 1852 for $1,700 by Daniel Hand, builder of. the Old Court House building in the county seat. THE CHURCH and other buildings of historic and architectural significance will be subjects of a report to be released in the fall by the County Planning Board. The report listing historic buildings and sites located in Lower Township, Middle Township, Sea Isle City and Stone Harbor will mark the end of a survey now being conducted by the Planning Board. The survey is made possible by a grant from the State Office of Historic Preservation. The grant of 16,000 is being matched by services provided by the county planning staff and by assistance from the municipalitcs. USING THE STATE grant monies, the county has hired two qualified

andmark for more than 12S years, surveyors required by the

state.

The surveyors, Nancy Zerbe and Noreen Frost, have completed graduate historic preservation programs as Columbia University and George Washington University respectively. Ms. Zerbe worked for U.S. Department of Housing and Urban

Department of Interior. FIELD WORK * on the survey will be completed this summer and a report . listing building#, of historical , and archilcchural significance as well as sites where historic events occurred will be

prepared.
