SOMERS POINT - South Jersey Regional Theatre at Gateway Playhouse here has an nounced that despite continuing financial problems, its 1980-81 theatre season will open Oct. 22., with a production of Bernard Slade's romantic comedy Same Time Neat Year.’ Casting for the show will continue in New Yortc through nett month by Director Pat Hecht, professor of drama at Stockton State College. Cape May County’s six Catholic schools will reopen Wednesday, Sept. 3, according to diocesan superintendent of schools, Msgr. James R. Tracy. There are five elementary schools in the county, with an enrollment of some 1,298 pupils; and one secondary school, Wildwood Catholic, in North Wildwood, with student population of about

As part of a growing' trend toward “total education" by the diocese, more Catholic elementary schools are including kindergarten programs in their curriculum offering. Msgr. Tracy also noted that enrollment in parochial schools throughout the diocese appears to have leveled off. "Our enrollment loss last year was about one per cent, the smallest decline in the last 10 years," he said.
