MIDDLE TWP. - The Third Annual Bird Carvers Show will be 10 to 5 Aug. 30 at the Wetlands Institute, Stone Harbor Blvd. Fealui’M will be the work of many award.winning local bird and decoy carvers such as Jim and Joan Seibert. Tony Hillman, Harry Shourds, George Stiles and Bob and Janice Peterson. Ml NATURES AS well as Hfe-size birds depicting the many species of songbirds, ducks, herons and shorebirds of Cape May County will be exhibited. A special slide lecturfe program tracing the history of bird carving in America from the rude Colonial decoy to the decorative contemporary bird carving will be presented at 8:15 p.m. by the Seiberts. The public is invited to both programs; admission by donation. FROM A UTILITARIAN beginning, the American decoy has risen to an important art form and a valued collector's treasure — an evolution the Seiberts will trace. As professional carvers for the last seven years, the Seiberts have exhibited widely on the East Coast. Both hold advanced degrees in art education from Glassboro State College and have taught in public schools for many

years.
