ON HIS FINAL day aboard TRACEN, Lt. J.g. Donald B. Trone was awarded the Coast Guard Achievement Medal for his superior performance of duty while serving in the Training Division. Lt. J.G. Trone was cited for his enthusiasm and dedication to his work. It was under Lt. j.g. Trone's guidance that the Regimental Runners was formed. This group of recruits made significant public relations impacts In runs in Cape May and Cape May Point. Lt. j.g. Trone was also responsible for achieving an increase of almost 50 percent in contributions from the Recruit Regiment in the Combined Federal Campaign. Lt. j.g. CWO Rhodes has been detached from the Training Center and reassigned to the cutter Conifer in the 5th Coast Guard District. ••• , THE GO AST GUARD Training Center will be sponsoring an All-Coast Guard Invitational Softball Tournament on Sept. 5, 6 and 7, with play beginning at noon on Friday the 5th at the Bear's field aboard TRACEN. The public is invited toattend. Teams who have indicated their intention to participate include those from the Coast Guard Academy in New London, t Conn., Coast Guard ■ 'Headquarters in Washington and Governor’s Island, New York.
