Younger Teens May Help Out at Hospital

we have restricted volunteer activities to individuals at least 16 years. Now after careful planning, we have developed a program whfch can fully utilize the enthusiasm and interest of

younger teens.".

Both males and females will be welcomed into the SMH volunteer corpa, with young men receiving the title of Junior Redcoat and young women, Junior Candy-Striper. Upon reaching 16, the Junior class of volunteers will

attain the status of Intermediate Redcoat and full-fledged Candy-Striper. At age 18, they gain the adulf volunteer designations of Redcoat

and Pink Lady.

JUNIOR 'sREDCOATS and Junior Candy-Stripers, according to Miss Petrunis, arc both eligible for the same hospital aotivites. They may particijfete in such duties as handling visitors passes, delivering flowers to nursing stations, and setting up patient trays

patients. Their working hours will be any time they elect to serve from 7:30 to 4, Monday thru Friday. "Although the Junior volunteer program is being initiated right now, during many young people's

COURT HOUSE - The results of the Cape May County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors election were announced at the Chamber's August Board of Director’s meeting by Howard Gerald, member of the nomination and election committee and Past President of the Chamber. Members elected five new directors and reelected eight current directors for another term. New directors include: Ernest Yarborough, vice president of Cape Insurance Co., North Wildwood and a resident of Avalon; Robert Smith, manager of he Ocean City Home Savings & Loan Association and a resident of Rio Grande. Jack Bittner, owner of Sandaway Hotel in Ocean City; Al Menz 111, partner in Big Timber Lake Campground. Middle Township and a resident of Wildwood Crest; and Larry Boyer, Publisher of the Gazette/Leader and

resident Lower Township and a former director of the Cheyenne County ,Chamber of Commerce in Sidney, Nebraska.
