VILLAS - Horace P. Layre, owner-operator of Layre’s Dutch Kitchen, died last Wednesday morning at his restaurant, the victim of an apparent heart attack. He was 62. He had operated the landmark bayfront establishment for the past 23 years, following in the footsteps of his father who started the business at Bay Ave. and Delaware Pkwy.

An Army veteran of World War II, the restauteur was a member of the Villas unit, Veterans of Foreign War. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Southern Jersey Council, Boy Scouts of America, Old Mill Dr, Cape May 08204. He lived on Adriatic Ave., North Cape May, and is survived try his wife Dorothy, son Kenneth, daughter Suzanna McKee of Doyles town, Pa., and seven grandchildren. Burial was in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Goshen following Mass of Christian Burial at St. Raymonds, Villas. Arrangements were by Radzieta Funeral Home, Court House.

children.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday from the Evoy Funeral Home, Fishing Creek; viewing is 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Cape MAY County Veterans Cemetery, Court

House.
