Panthers Start Real Hitting COURT HOUSE - The Middle Twp. Panthers donned pads and helmets and indulged in some hitting in their workouts this week as about 45 candidates prepared for the opening game with Bu.ena Regional at Memorial Field, Saturday, Sept. 27,1:30 p.m. Coaches are the same as last year with the exception of Art Tuel, who has replaced Norm Smith, resigned. Head Coach Phil Exley has Brian Tetltty, Paul Yerk and John Kaighn as assistants. CANDIDATES ARE: Joe DiGiacomo, quarterback; Mark Garcia, Chris Nichols, Jeff Tomlin, Jeff Tannir, Anthony Platt, running backs; Richie Rhinessmith and Tony Tice, returning after a season at Valley Forge Military Academy, fullback. Neal Chase, Frank Brown, Jeff Kane, tight end. Bob King, Joe Donahue, Mike Marriner, Dawson Spaulding, split end. Eddie McLaughlin, Chuck Marriner, Keith Seaman, offensive tackle. Party Thur. AVALON - ‘ We tried it and everyone loved it" was how councilwoman Rachael Sloan described the success of roller skating at Community Hall throughout the summer. It was, she said, enjoyed by the young and old alike and found to do little harm to the floor at the hall. The Recreation Committee will spoasor a roller skating party from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sept. 11 at the hall, according to recreation director Dave Haberle, and skates will be available for rental at $2.50 including admission. For those with their own skates, an entrance fee of $1 will be charged, p (Refreshments aren’t sold and people are asked not to bring them into the hall thus avoiding spills and mess.
