Ahhhhh. Us nearly autumn. Come next Monday at precisely 4:09 p.m. we ll be into the new season. A tree here and there shows a gleam of fall color. But the vibrant colors of autumn are still ahead. The nearest full moon to the autumnal equinox, the Harvest Moon, shines this year on the 24th. Puts you in mind of that old melody. "Shine on harvest moon for me and my gal ‘' While the day and night are now about nearly equal in length, we're delighted the weather's still mild, the water’s warm and that ole Harvest Moon is soon to rise with a smile on its face we like to think. Ed Zaberer^s Anglesea Inn — Come in for the final moments! Ed Zaberer's Anglesea Inn, just off exit 6 of the Garden State Pkwy. will soon be closing its doors for the season, and Ed cordially invites his many customers to enjoy the many extravagant dishes his staff loves to prepare. The portions are truly garganutum. The famous Zaberized Cocktails include Manhattans, Martinis and Whiskey Sours. The children’s menu includes a special $5.95 Broiled Filet Mignon or Fried Jumbo Shrimp with French Fries & Cole Slaw for $5.95! This weekend for sure! Jack Cundiff's Herald's Inn — Always just the spot * for good times! Jack Cundiff’s Herald’s Inn, on Rts. 9 & 47 in Rio Grande, is a year 'round place where entertainment, good food and good times combine. One of the favorite events for many locals and
weekenders is watching Sunday & Monday night Football on the giant 5 ft. screen. (There's an accompanying 10c buffet!) Bill Christman and his Exprcsso Show Band appear Wed.-Sat. starting 9 p.m. Plenty of tasty food is available from 11 a.m. to 1 am. including giTHit burgers, steaks, subs & other choice snacks. Billy Mulligan's The Inn — The Wednesday night Slosh Party is a fun time! Billy Mulligan's The Inn at 401 Bayshore Rd., Villas has a longtime reputation for letting guests know they are always welcome. The Wednesday Night Slosh Party from 9:30 to 1 a.m. (the music goes till 2 a m.) includes an open bar that costs $7 for the guys and $5 for the gals. The ladies have their own night (every Friday when drinks are just a buck for the gals). Wednesday. Thursday, Friday & Saturday, "Essence” plays lots of rock as well as oldies. Telephone 886-3430 to discover the Nightly Dinner Specials. The Democrats are having a dinner! (But everyone is welcome!) There’ll be a full course baked ham or chicken dinner at the Villas Democrat Club, Bayshore Rd. & Washington Ave., from 2 to 6 p.m. this Sunday. The food is always great and the political chit chat is fun. Kurtz’s Restaurant — A Great place to take the family for a delicious dinner 1 Kurtz’s Restaurant, at 6112 Park (Page 15 Please)
