MARTIN LETTS, civilian employee of the U.S. C\»asl Guard Electronics Engineering Center, is congratulated by Cpt. John Maloney for work in the service's LORAN system. Skill Nets $1,300 Award DIAMOND BEACH — Special Achievement Award has been won by Martin Letts of North Cape May, civil service employee of the U.S Coast Guard Electronics Engineering Center here. Letts developed a time-saving technique to calibrate long range aids to navigation for the Coast Guard The technique will save approximately $50,000 on each application, both in existing LORAN units and in those built in the future. For his outstanding achievement, Letts was awarded $1,300 and received a letter of recognition from Coast Guard Headquarters. He has been employed by the Electronics Engineering Center since the early 1960s. He is assigned as the assistant to the chief of Project .Engineering Division.
