Hall Use To Cost More
LOWER TWP - The township hM to increase emergency hoalth care available, according to James MacDonald, Republican candidate for Township Committee. "We have a fine rescue squad, hut it needs help and I believe the answer lies with paramedics,’’ Mac Donald said •THE PROGRAM SEEMS to be a natural for Lower Township With the area to be covered, a paramedic unit could help with fast service,” he went on I would recommend it work in complete cooperation with the township rescue squad. North Wildwood has paramedics working with them all the time. "Part of the training could be received locally at the Vo-Tech Center and
the balance would have to be taken at West Jersey Hospital where the certified course is offered ••MY RESEARCH has shown that the degree of care that a paramedic can give saves the residents precious time in an emergency. The unit would have a direct tie-in with our local hospital to coordinate the treatment "It has proven out that many emergencies can be treated either at the home or with a local doctor, rather than taking the patients to the hospital. "I KNOW THAT there must be funding available to increase emergency health care in our area. I will work to see this program implemented, hopefully, at no cost to the taxpayers, MacDonald added
. believe our local government has to take the leadership role in some of these areas. We are extremely fortunate that our emergency services such as rescue and fire are volunteer, but we must work to support them wherever possible,” MacDonald concluded.

apparent that more and more individuals are taking advantage of the borough's largesse and leasing it for private social functions such as parties and wedding receptions Council agreed that rising inflation, the costs of air conditioning and beating are making 1976 charges unrealistic. It was unanimously agreed to introduce a future resolution changing the prices to $300 and $350 respectively. BINGO PARTIES and certain fraternal and social service organizations will be unaffected by the change in price structure because of services and contributions they make to the community, including scholarships for Avalon children and approximately $2,000 donated annually for essential purchases such as athletic equipment, etc. It was also agreed to make this change known to the public as quickly as possible since large functions are generally planned well in advance of the date and place set.
