bv Bill Shrrman WILDWOOD - Repulsed by rf rugged Warrior defense and a flock of penalties, the Panthers came alive in the second half Saturday and scored Uvo more touchdowns to win 22-0. In the second quarter Danny Arenberg went into T.D. City with a quar terhack keep on a march aided by a 15-yd. penalty against Wildwood, with Garcia and Tice ripping off the yardage. Middle went to the one yd. line where Arenberg sneaked over Jay Erkert kicked the point after. Wildwood's punting, aided by some crucial penalties, held Middle and the score was still 7-0 at the end of the third period. Starting at their own 20 yd. line. Middle penetrated on runs by Chris Nichols, Mark Garcia, and Tom Tice and a pass to Neal Chase to the 10 yd. line. Then Garcia waltzed in untouched for the score. The Panthers got a two point conversion when Arenberg fumbled the snap but stood up and threw a pass for the extra points. Score Middle 15 Wildwood 0. Wildwood, desperately trying to score, was forced to give up the ball on their 27. Nicols carried on a reverse to the 19. A pass to Chase brought the ball to the 2. and Garcia went into paydirt. Jay Erkert converted making score 22-0. With 51 seconds remaining, Wildwood received the kickoff, and tried to pass, but with 12 seconds left Jeff Tanner intercepted a Wildwood pass. Outstanding on defense* for Middle were Frank Brown, Jeff Tanner. Tom Tice. James Matthews, Jeff Tomlin. Tom Nicholas and Don Toier.

ERMA This a unique season at Lower Cape May Regional High School with Ihe arrival of a new sport - soccer. Not widely recognized in the U.S. shccer is very popular in the rest of the world where it is called futbul. Regardless of how it's known, its a game of skill and agility. In soccer 22 players are on Ihe field at all times. Most don't get much rest because there are no timeouts and only three substitutions arc allowed per game. The halves in soccer are 45 minutes of continuous play The Lower Cape May Regional players work hard with litlle fan attention. A lot of time after school and some of the weekend, goes grueling practices which include a mile run, calisthenics, and exercises to prevent infury. SKILLS arc concentrated on. Soccer is a game where arms and hands cannot be used, consequently practices stress footwork and using
your head! Shots on goal are the order of the day. Passing and ball control, also essential to the game, are stressed IN THEIR firs! scrim mage, the tiger soccer team took on Shelton College. Regionall dominated the early' stages, working both offense and defense well and seldom letting Shelton into Ihcir end of the field. The final was Capers 4.
