AVALON - Mrs. Alice Marvel has been elected president of the Women's Civic Gub for two years beginning in October, 1960. Other officers elected for the same term were Mrs. Majorie Jones. vice president; Mrs. Betty Crippen. corresponding secretary; Mrs. Edna Elsworth. recording ‘Family Portrait’ Day Sponsored N. secretary. Miss Marion Zuch was re-elected treasurer. They were installed by Mrs. Stasia Estrada at a luncheon meeting recently at the Whitebrier Hotel. Following the installation the outgoing president, Mrs. Jayne Reddie, presented the ga’val to Mrs. Marvel. Mrs. Estrada, chairwoman of the Public Affairs group, reported that the club has recently ordered the planting of two islands which brings Rhe number that the club has paid for to seven, and ordered $1,500 worth of playground equipment which will be installed in the spring in the Marion P. Armacost Park at 74th St. and the 29th St. playground, She also reminded the members that the glass recycling program is still active. The next meeting of the club will be in March, 1981. Jaycee-ettes Plan Bazaar No. WILDWOOD - The Cape May County Jayceeettes are busily preparing for their 2nd Annual Holiday Bazaar at the Community Center 9th and Central Ave. There will be craftsmen, holiday cookie tray orders, baked goods, raffles, crafts, and entertainment for the children. Tables are still available for any organization, dealer or crafts person who would like to be a part of this fund raising effort by the Cape May County Jaycee-ettes. The bazaar will be held from 6 to io p.m. Friday, Nov. 14, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 15.
Seniors Turn To Square Dancing STONE HARBOR - The Seniors have added another activity to their schedule. They have converted their exercise to music class, under the direction of Marji Otton, to learn the fundamentals of square dancing, under the direction of Fran VanNess, who with Mrs. Otton is part of the Over 50 Nifties group. Some 30 Senior members, the biggest group ever, formed two circles and danced to the mover’s calls. Then they formed four couples in squares and danced to "Pop Goes the Weasel" and "Marching through Georgia." THE SESSION drew one of the largest crowds to attend a fun night in recent weeks.
