Ward None of the hotel’s four guests were injured. Over 100 firemen from the Greater Wild woods fought the fire, bringing It under control in a half-hour. An apartment building In the 22*> block of Central Ave. in North Wildwood was also destroyed by fire last Wednesday. It too la being investigated.

OK Asked For Dock Projects Banking Idea Spread Westward

The Army Corps of Engineers is considering Iwo applications to permit waterfront construction projects in Stone Harbor and North Wildwood. Thomas M Keown of l^ansdale. Pa . seeks to # construct a timber deck in’ South Basin off Great Channel at 348-Mth St.,* Slone Harbor, to provide dockage for a sailboat, sunbathing, and other

recreational activities. The Stobhart Construction Co. of Court Howe , wants toconstruct a revetment, place floating docks and dredge an area in Hoffman Canal. 16th Ave. and the hay. in North Wildwood. The project is to stabilize existing lots against erosion and provide docking for pleasure craft.

WILDWOOD - An innovative way for banks to offer customers interest on funds that would normally be in a checking account has been taken West by a local banker. James L. Blllmeyer, president of Marine National Bank here, recently delivered a talk on NOW accounts at a California bankers’ seminar. The NOW account is named for Negotiated

Order of Withdrawal, which looks and works like a check but is a draft on the account. “Usually,” said Billmeyer, "new bank products are dreamed up in California. Then the West Coast banks develop the idea and it will slowly filter back East. So I was happy to talk on the West Coast about NOW accounts, which are definitely a New Jersey idea.”

Bingo Cards Available At Area Merchants

Newspaper Bingo, sponsored by The Herald & Lantern, begins today. It’s completely free. All adults 18 years of age and older can play and $100 in cash .will be given away every Friday afternoon for 13 weeks starring Nov. 14. Bingo cards are available today at many participating merchants and businesses in Cape May County. The cards can be picked up now, with numbers for the first week's game to be published in The Herald & Lantern next week. The Newspaper Bingo cards, free for the asking, can be found at the businesses listed on page 7. As stated, cards for the first week’s game at^ available right now. After this week, new cards will become available at the participating businesses and merchants at 3 p.m. each Wednesday. Persons can play as many cards as they wish, although the cards can be obtained only at the participating businesses. No cards are available at The Herald or Lantern. Each week’s game will be played with cards of a different color. The color for the first week's game is green. No purchase is necessary to obtain a card. You don’t even have to give your name. The more cards you play increases the prospects of your winning, so everyone is urged to visit as many of the participating businesses as possible and as often as

possible to obtain a Newspaper Bingo card. Here’s the way the Newspaper Bingo numbers will be published in ads in The fferald & Lantern starting next week. Look For The Money Bag! The game is a "cover all," which means that all 24 numbers on the Newspaper Bingo card must be matched by the numbers published in The Herald & Lantern. Winning cards will only be verified by The Herald & Lantern from noon to 3 p.m. starting Nov. 14. A person or persons having a bingo card "covered" with numbers polished in The Herald & Lantern must call 967-3312 for verification. ^ If more than one person has a winning card, the $100 will be divided. If there is no winner for a . week's game, the $100 will be added to the prize for the following week. The game is on so why not do some Christmas shopping at the various participating businesses and while there, pick up your free Newspaper Bingo card. You may win an extra $100 for Christmas shopping money next week.
