CAPE MAY - A renewed effort is underway here to reconstruct the earthen embankment adjacent to Souttr Cape May meadow and Cape - Island Creed as a means of preventing flooding of the low-lying fow tract area of the borough. Mayor Jack Vasser announced last Wednesday night that he would seek grants or funding to rebuild - and continue the sod bank, originally built in the 1800s as an efficient means of protection against flooding.
