THE OLD SPORT offers his sincerest apologies to a "Proud Mother” who resents the fact that her son Bob McCarty was not mentioned in the column for having attained the rank of Eagle Scout along with Don Richter at a recent Court of Honor in Rio Grande. My only excuse is that the Old Sport is a sports writer and cannot cover all social events. He mentioned Don Richter because he is an athlete who also attained the highest honor in scouting. The Old Sport checked and found out that Bob does not play football along with his scouting prowess. But he has learned that Bob plays in the Panther marching band and thus qualifies for mention in this column. My congratulations to Bob and my congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. McCarty for having such a fine son. OK Jeanette? • • • A FINAL attempt to hold that long-awaited and fondly-anticipated flag football game between the Democrats and Republicans will be made prior to the, final football game at Memorial Field on Nov. 22 at noon. CAPT. DAVE MAY of the Donkeys will rely on Billy Adams, Gene Sanders, Joe Trombetta, Walt Tumier, Mike Vistenzo, Pat Peterson, Johnny Jones, and Chuck Mcllvain.
