COURT HOUSE - Raymond M. Burke Sr., founder of Burke Motor Sales and mayor of Middle Township two generations ago, died last Thursday in Burdette Tomlin Hospital. He was 88.
A lifelong local resident, Mr. Burke was also a longtime member of the Middle Township Board of Education. He was mayor

years of 1933-40 service on the governing body. During his tenure, the rural municipality gained a firehouse and sewage system thru WPA. He was also the township’s Civil
Defense director World War II.

Services were Monday at the Radzieta Funeral Home here with Pastor Cass Shaw of the First Presbyterian Church of Cape May officiating. Burial was in Baptist Cemetary here.
