Big Parade Shapes Up

SEA ISLE CITY - The Annual Christmas Parade is shaping up to be one of the largest sdch parades on • The Jersey Cspe,” according to William VanArtsdalen, president of the city Chamber of Commerce. “At this point, we have commitments from four marching bands, 14 floats, and 11 marching groups, with more coming in^feach day," VanArtsdalen said last week. The parade is set for 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 20. FOUR OF THE best known marching bands in the area will be in the parade, VanArtsdalen noted, “Ocean City High School, Middle Township High School, the Hobo Band from Pitman, and the Duffy String Band. There will also be many floats and marching groups The parade will march up Landis Avenue to the Raffa Community Center on Kennedy Boulevard, where refreshments will be available. There will also be clowns giving candy canes and balloons to all of

the children. Judges at the reviewing stand will rate the bands and marching groups and floats, aod award cash prizes to the best. “The revival of the Sea Isle City Christmas Parade brings back a great family tradition to our resort,” Mayor Dominic C. Raffa stated.

13 Annual Christmas House Tour

DENNISVILLE - Rev. Robert W. Hughes, pastor, announced that the United Methodist Church will sponsor its 13th annual Christmas, Open House Tour from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday, Dec. 26. Tickets and brochures may be secured in the social hall adjacent to the church. Tree-shaped markers will be in front of the 16 homes and buildings which will be open to visitors. HOMES AND BUILDINGS open for the tour are in the statedesignated Historic District. A floating lighted Christmas tree will be on Johnson's Pond (Dennis veille Lake) again this year.
